1. Raccoons are called “trash pandas” for a reason. Help them out of the trash if they’re stuck.
  2. Death is imminent and it’s worse for the families who live through it.
  3. Watching your grandmother die will make you feel the most helpless you’ve ever felt.
  4. Having to tell someone over and over they’re dying is the worst thing you’ll ever have to do.
  5. Family and friends are more important than amateur bike racing.
  6. Pain is relative, but it’s also really fucking personal.
  7. Finding a job where you can be yourself is more important than one with a fancy title.
  8. Helping people that have drifted out of your life will re-establish a lost connection.
  9. You have to work (and make time) to make new and keep friends.
  10. Communication is the most difficult with people you’re closest to.
  11. You won’t gain weight taking 5 ½ weeks off the bike as long as you move around and eat in moderation, but it will bring a sense of calm.
  12. You’re your only advocate.
  13. The best things for your health aren’t always going to be what you want or like.
  14. If you don’t practice, you’ll forget.
  15. Mountain biking > Road cycling.
  16. THC gummies are potent.
  17. You just have to ask for what you want or need.
  18. Meditation and yoga do more for my mind than antidepressants.
  19. Doctors still would rather put a band-aid over an issue than find the cause.
  20. Long walks provide more clarity than talking to a very average therapist.

  22. Birthdays are not a death sentence.
  23. Getting uncomfortable makes life more exciting.
  24. Eat food because you enjoy it.
  25. There are a million and one things going on in your body at all times and that’s why it’s difficult to find out what’s wrong with you.
  26. You’re not alone in your pain although it feels like it most of the time.
  27. Post on social media to inspire, help, or educate others. Don’t use it as a vanity scale.
  28. Read books before going to bed instead of captions on a screen.
  29. Don’t be afraid to do things alone.
  30. Buy organic.
  31. People won’t understand what they can’t see.
  32. Marriage is like a garden. You have to constantly tend to it, otherwise, it’ll die.
  33. Money is a necessary evil in a capitalist country.
